Michael Clarke, George Bailey, Fawad Ahmed, NCN, James Faulkner, Aaron Finch, Josh Hazlewood, Phil Hughes, Mitch Johnson, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, People's Champ, Mitch Starc, Adam Voges, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Shane Watson.

No room for Doherty, with Fawad the only specialist spinner. Not sure I agree with that just yet. No Rad Haddin also disappointing, IMO.

I thought that Cam White might have got himself back into the frame with his performances in County Cricket; would rather have him than Finch.

Wouldn't have Warner starting personally.

Assuming Clarke will be rested for most of the games -

Watson
Hughes
Marsh
Voges
Bailey
Maxwell
Wade
Faulkner
Starc
Johnson
McKay

If Ahmed is a must then Faulkner can sit out. Even with that line up Australia can further strengthen the bowling by replacing him with another bowler, since they bat all the way down to Johnson anyways. Doherty should've been playing though.

I agree with your thoughts on Warner, but its unlikely to happen. In that scenario, Marsh opens with Hughes at 3 though, IMO.

Only concern with that bowling attack is that there's three left arm seamers, but they all bring something different to the table so I guess it isn't that much of an issue.

I'd prefer Smith to Maxwell as a batsman alone, but see the Big Show getting the slot because he's the more explosive lower order player and his bowling is probably more reliable. Matthew Wade as an ODI batsman hasn't impressed me either.

They're cutting back the squad after the T20s, as well, so hopefully they get Finch to piss off then.

Maxwell probably outbowled Fawad at times during the ODI tri-series tbh, he might be useful on dry pitches with some left-armers as well like Ajmal had in the CT, decent squad I thought, although Doherty is a bit unlucky.
