I said when the team was announced that I don't rate Faulkner's bowling BUT he has done the job for which he was picked

Furthermore, I assume that he was selected in front of a specialist batsman because it was considered that his all-round contribution would be greater than whatever paltry score they would put on the board

If that's the case then he has proven his worth because no-one could be confident of Hughes reaching 10 or Khawaja not throwing away a start
