Anyone, glad we had that decision as it has given us something to talk about

The cricket itself has been absolutely tedious

For me the cricket is fine, a bit slow but we are doing what we needed to do. Grinding you into the dirt so can hardly complain though can I?

Spiky to get in trouble for the content of that pic. Like CW's own twitter scandal.

Edit: typo deliberate.

Such shocking umpiring so far... are there no better umpires available than this? Would rather have a decent Aussie umpire tbh
By my reckoning, there are eight who are better (ten if you include Billy and Simon). The four non-Aussie non-English 'Elite' umpires are bringing the game into disrepute. Time the ICC to reverse their stupid 'neutral umpires' policy. Shakoor Rana's dead.

England have been really poor IMO, on a pitch that is still excellent they've batted slowly and still lost wickets, they have only got away with it cos they're so far in front. It would look bad if Root and Bell were both out in single figures, as they should've been.

Nah that's a silly way of looking at it, as every England fan will tell you this has been the day we needed. 1 wicket lost in two sessions with over two days left.

australia have dismissed only 3 batsmen in the 96-99 range in the last 8 and a half years - and one of them was a run-out

Silly? England aren't grinding us into the dirt, they are slowly lowering us into a grave of our own making, most teams would have come out swinging and buried us, lost opportunity, our bowlers can now remain confident for the next game while the English batsmen gain little from the experience.

Other than the chance to go 2-0 up in a 5-match series. I know who will be happier if that happens, the result is everything.

There's still a session to go and frankly today should have been about just keeping Australia in the field all day.
