England are clearly the superior team; even while getting bowled out for 200, there were periods where their batsmen made the Australian bowlers look fairly innocuous while seeming to threaten with almost every ball when bowling (in no small part due to the visitors' crap batting). Australia will have to constantly keep getting close to England through these Tests, keep the ball in play from the baseline and hopefully wear the English out.

Lovely knock from Smith so far though. Very decisive against both seam and spin.

The batting is so ****ing horrendous it defies belief at this point. This is why Australia doesn't have a shot in either series, it doesn't matter how well their bowlers do, the batting will certainly fail them. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise. Over a 5 test series the batting will cost them.

Aussie fans should get ready for more pain too. Cricket Australia has plenty in store for you with 10 of these matches coming up.

Cricket in Australia will barely be standing by the end of this disaster. As if the sport hasn't already copped enough damage over the last 5 years. Thanks a ****ing heap CA! 8-) How did we get to this point?

Just been watching the highlights.

Weirdest Michelle for Sids. Couple of nice nuts to Root and KP, but my he bowled some utter, utter gash as well and picked up wickets with some of it. Prior and Trott should both be swallowing hemlock.
