Yeah, before or after test series you get more players rested or injured and the series in general isn't taken as importantly.

Problem with the 7 match series is that the alternative is to tack it onto the end of the Test tour to India - which makes it a long tour immediately prior to an ICC event/Ashes double header. That's not ideal.

The longer we keep Haddin in the test team the greater the chance of Nev getting in the test team #ForTheGreaterGood

Jos Buttler. Serious option for #6, IMHO. Will be in our ODI team before the end of the year and it's a proven route into tests. Real talent; scores ridiculously quickly and does it playing real cricket shots.

Quite right too. Quisling, tbf. Could've been wearing the three lions, but opted for Australia just because he was born and raised there. Disgraceful poaching by the crims.

Haha will love it when Pattinson gets a massive boo every time he starts a spell.

And so will he.

To be fair, think he would have had to do the qualification a la Pietersen to play for England, as was born in Australia to an English father.

Pfft. Small price, tbh.

Incidentally, part of me thinks his performances might've improved Darren's chances of a recall from "when hell freezes" to merely "extremely unlikely". As Dernbach seems to be seventh in the pecking order he can't be that far away and the selectors might get a case of "Pattinson envy".

Biggest issue is staying on the park long enough. Does pretty well when he gets games for Victoria in the longer form.

Would be the building blocks of a hilarious situation where one Pattinson sledges the other and the ensuing biffo is broken up by a pitch charging Papa Pattinson.

settle down ****s.
