Don't let the stats get in the way of a killer plan.

Don't let the fact that we never see bunsen burners in either country get in the way of the fact that Aussies can't take a joke.

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself but having seen the team Australia are putting out 4 months before the series starts....

Who's actually locked in for Australia? Warner, Hughes, Clarke, Siddle, Pattinson. Watson will be there in some form or another. Fully expect Henriques to have nailed his spot by the end of the current tour.
Will Cowan and Wade hold on?

No more crazy than Lyon not playing in Indian conditions, really, tbf.

No. Not for certain but I don't think it's a stretch to consider the likelihood of Doherty playing seeing as he has just been selected as your frontline spinner and I don't expect you to go in without one.

As for Maxwell, stranger things have happened.

I'd say it's quite likely that Australia go into a few tests without a specialist spin bowler in England.

and then they'll not pick a spinner when they actually have to, because they're afraid of dropping of the seamers

What side would you be picking Benchmark?
Warner, Cowan, Hughes, Watson, Clarke, Henriques, Haddin(?), Starc, Siddle, Pattinson, Lyon ??

Ha, quite so.

No spinner at Headingley: maybe; no spinner at The Oval: selection panel should drink hemlock.
