"Anyone whose form becomes so bad that it actually becomes noticable in comparison with the failings of our other batsmen". There, fixed.

Cowan at 5 might "excel" with 60. Clarke with 259*

Here's a question: what batsman and bowler from the opposition do you fear most going into this series? For me it would be Anderson and Trott.

Pattinson and Clarke. If I was Australian it would probably be Anderson and Pietersen.

I fear more the slow, attritional kind of batting that players like Trott and Cook are so good at. Feel it's more likely to bring our bowlers down than someone like Pietersen who always makes you feel like you've got a chance.

Somerset slumped from 303/3 to 320 all out, with 5 ducks in a row. I've never seen 5 ducks in a row before which could be some kind of record.

All good omens courtesy of Pattinson and Starc.

I disagree, I think Pieterson is perhaps more fearful because he can take the game away from you quickly, even if England is behind in the game. Cook and Trott are scary when they come into bat after Australia puts a crappy score on the board, then they will just slowly devour our bowlers.

Clarke at 3 or 4 against a newish moving ball will be all kinds of fail.

Anyone who reckons he isn't nailed on for the whole 5 is kidding themselves.

Pietersen and Anderson. Shout out to Cook too. IMO KP is the best English batsman since Gower or Gooch. He's devastating. Cook is rapidly becoming a ****ing annoyance to me though.

Hmm, it's not like he hasn't been facing a lot of a newish ball a lot in recent years regardless...
