Haven't seen O'Keefe or Rogers, but going off what people have said on forum and the statz, O'Keefe is the best spinner in the country after Hauritz and Rogers is pretty gun.

And Khawaja is so far ahead of Hughes and Smith technically it's not funny.
Rogers is injured as well.

Are we allowed to put a microphone onto Watson so the other batsman can actually hear his calls?

1 Watson
2 Hughes
3 Khawaja
4 Ponting
5 Clarke
6 Hussey
7 Haddin
8 Smith
9 Johnson
10 Harris
11 Siddle

I really don't like the idea of picking Smith as a spinner, but I don't really like the idea of picking any of the spinners at this point either, particularly with O'Keefe playing grade cricket. Smith offers by far the best package of them at this point with his batting; I'd make it known that he was being picked as an allrounder. He'd basically have the same bowling role he had in this match; I'd just get Watson through a few more overs as the fourth seamer. If I really thought the pitch was going to be a genuine turner (and I don't) I'd bring Krejza in for Smith.

Clarke should definitely not bat in the top four but I wouldn't want to move Hussey up either; I think that batting lineup looks so much more solid with Clarke at five and Hussey at six so I've brought in another top order batsman (Khawaja). I've got him at three above Ponting but that's clearly not going to happen; I'd be equally happy with him at four. I'd also be happy with Dave Hussey in at four.

Realistically though, I think we'll just see Beer come in for Hilfenhaus with no other changes. We may see Khawaja bat six instead of Smith or even open ahead of Hughes but they're both long shots at this stage IMO.

I'm not a doctor; I just named the team with the assumption everyone will be fit. If he's not passed fit my team will change.

I'm just assuming you heard something that I didn't, as I turned the TV off for about an hour and a half.

Just got around to read the Harris article; no chance in hell he'll be fit for Sydney. I'll replace him with Bollinger pending a review of his fitness. Beyond that, Copeland.

Will Ponting play with the ashes gone?

Might be relieved of captaincy for not winning the series and therefore might not play.

Whatever happens both the batting and bowling needs a shake up as it clearly isn't good enough at present.

Watson
Hughes
Katich
Hussey
Clarke
Khawaja
Haddin
O'Keefe
Johnson
Siddle
Cameron/Copeland

No chance of that being picked but who cares.

Clarke to return to 5 at the least please. Other than that, need to think. Khawaja in for Smith, probably. Put him in at 4. Hauritz in for Harris for sure IMO.

I hate how the selectors are so predictable it's now automatic to think they wouldn't pick a team like that.

I mean what do we have to lose? The whole point of the series for us is over now... It's the perfect time to start experimenting with some new talent so we can build a better team for the future. Why wait until we have lost more matches/series before we start doing it...

Draft the Channel 9 commentary team. You have Lawry and Slater to open the innings. Chappelli as captain. Healy as keeper.Benaud and Warne for spinners. Draft Greig as an honorary Australian and all-rounder.

I guess the Sky blokes would be needed to finish the XI. Athers and Nass round out the batting. Holding and Botham would be handy with the ball and Botham would make a great vice-captain to Chappeli.

Mark Nicholas can be the waterboy.
