Some real filth from Smith here. Seems a nice kid and all, but he's badly out of his depth IMHO.
His leg spin lacks a bit of zip, but so does most spin on this wicket. Saw that Swann bowled a lot quicker in his few overs yesterday, be interesting to see if he continues doing that because of the pitch, or whether it was just a ploy to stop Hussey getting down the pitch to him.

Still think that the below applies:

Is there the potential that Steve Smith could end up being a Test level Moises Henriques?

Moey, at this stage, is a wonderful package, but not quite good enough with the bat or the ball in FC cricket. Steve Smith, at least for the next couple of years, could be classified as the same, IMO.

Yeah, he's not quite as awful as Cameron White, but he's still a batsman who bowls a bit being asked to do the job of a specialist spinner. If it weren't already too late, I'd say Australia really needs to eat crow and bring Hauritz back.

England should bat on and on until all out. If still at the wicket after the tea session tomorrow, then declare with 45 - 60 minutes left in the day.

England should aim to not have to bat again.

I bet somewhere Nathan Hauritz is chuckling to himself. What is happening to Smith, probably would of happened to Michael Beer.

How do you reckon Beer would've gone on here? Warney has been pushing his cart pretty hard.

Shot Prior! Prior is a good player of spinners, IIRC. I remember him smashing Murali for 16 in an over in the 2007 WC.

Lovely shot that from Trott.
