Question 1: Will Cook & Strauss put on 50 or more for the 1st wicket?

Yeeesh. That lasted a long time. Hideous leave from the captain and it's 3/1, so "no".

Question 2: Will the incoming Australian bowlers (i.e. Harris & Bollinger) have taken more wickets than the first test survivors by COP on day 2?

2-0 to the newbies, so that's a "yes", even if it's a slightly defaulty one.

Brumby No

For our remaining magnificent seven:

Question 3: Will Cook have completed back-to-back double tons by COP on day 3?

Question 4: Will England have exceeded their 1st innings total from the 2006 Adelaide test (551) by COP on day 3?

No

More out of hope than belief on the second question. I don't think Cook has the legs for another 70 odd runs.

Hmmm, I thought England for 551 last time. So the answer is No to question 4 (assuming no more play by COB day 3)

It would be bloody hilarious if they closed on exactly 551.

EDIT: And they do.

Cricketing gods not without a sense of humour it seems. Exactly 551, so "no".

For our remaining duo:

Question 5: Will the next wicket fall to a right-arm seam-up bowler?

Question 6: Will Ian Bell complete his ton?

As question 6 could conceivably be answered before question 5 the first one to be resolved in real time will decide our winner.
