The "Channel 9 Commentary Is Hurting Brain" Thread

His action looks a bit all over the place, some balls he's nice and tall and others he falls away a little bit, body pulls towards the off-side.

EDIT: Not saying it's a bad action, just that I don't think that he's executing it as consistently as he'd like. He used to be arms and legs everywhere back in junior cricket, he's much more refined now than what he was back then.

He'd look even dorkier with a mo I reckon. Full-on beard might work, but it'd probably take a couple of years to grow in.
Cant be much dorkier than KP's porn star mo, what a shocker. Ever see that picture from the 1994 tour to Pakistan? Where the whole team grew mo's? Healy and Robertson had more hair on their palms. Classic stuff!

George looks so much like a kid who works at my local supermarket it's ridiculous

Oh FFS, has Lawry ever seen Bell bat before? What he said about him couldn't have been any less true. "Not as stylish as some, but a fighter." Groan!

Depends what you mean by stylish, though. He's like a twitchy version of Kallis; yeah, his technique is very solid and he's straight out of the coaching manual, don't really think that it's natural or "stylish".

Yeah exactly.

Crabb, your version of stylish, believe it or not, is quite different to most of the cricket watching population.

To most, Mark Waugh was stylish, Shane Watson is not.

Worst bit of commentary was Lawry being puzzled as to why left arm orthodox bowlers bowl from around the wicket to right handers. Was facepalming tbh.

Its just painful. He's been like this for his whole commentary career too, not just lately. I hadnt watched any 80's stuff in ages, some time in the early 2000's i dug out some 84/85 stuff ball by ball, Bill's commentary was woeful, I just didnt realise it back in the 80's as i was too young.

Bell in full flight is glorious to watch.

How often that's happened in his career, is of course, another story.

Ian Healy referring to Steve O'Keefe as underbowled, after spending all yesterday decrying how Steve Smith needs to get overs under his belt, and this was the perfect opportunity for him to do so...

He just got worse. If Australia A bat well, they could leave England with a tricky day and a half.

I know we're playing our back up bowling attack, but I don't quite see Australia smashing 700 off 3 overs.

Was under the impression that he was talking about them having a day and a half in the field, tbh.

Giving Healy far too much credit IMO.

None of the commentary team could answer Tony Greig's question about where Panesar played his county cricket.

Now I don't expect them to have an encyclopaedic knowledge of every England player's career, but jeez, is it to much to ask them to do some basic ****ing research and at least know where each of the touring squad plays their cricket domestically?

Haha that's just the tip of the iceberg regarding what they don't know about touring teams.
