He's averaging 50 without a big score boosting that up too. If he can learn to convert his starts better he could be real handy.

It's because he bats eight - he runs out of partners and ends up hitting out or finishing with red ink a lot.

His average flatters him really but he's a genuine allrounder. He's definitely a notch about Hauritz and Doherty as a batsman.

Someone tell Ian Healy that it's not a 5 day game.

He's just come out with a peach, apparently if Australia A bat really well, they could leave England with a tricky day and a half. They'd have to score about 700 off 3 overs to achieve that.

Nice work by Tremlett and Shahzad to bulk up the score. Will England have to bat again before the Ashes?

Well, that would be good to watch tbh.

Question for the Aus A bats: Do you try and attack in the hope of getting England in again to embarrass them a bit, or do you try and not lose your wicket and the game?

Somewhere in between. I'd just play my natural game. It's a selection trial after all.

I'd say they just try to impress the selectors and play a solid innings. probably ignore the match state and play your natural game at this point.

EDIT: damn you beat me by seconds!

Thanks for your call Adamski.

We Aus A batsmen will likely go about batting normally, at least for the balance of today, with preservation of wickets perhaps being the emphasis.

Tomorrow morning, assuming we're reasonably well placed, we'll look to press on a bit.

Disgraceful how many overs Smith and George bowled. O'Keefe should have bowled well in excess of 30 and even a few from White or Khawaja would have been worth a punbt over those other blokes.
