Swan to win one test on his own most likely Sydney if England can conjure up one more win from the other 4 games I back them to retain the urn.

Loving, and sharing, this not-at-all-premature excitement about the Ashes :)

Although its not so fun with all the aussies preoccupied by this nothing-in-comparison-test against India :p

Well the first round of shield matches start in a week and the following players could be playing for 1st Test selection, or at least selection in the Aussie A side V England on Nov 17

Batting
Phil Jaques
Chris Rogers
George Bailey
Micheal Klinger
Callum Ferguson
Usman Khawaja

Allrounder
Steve O'Keefe

WK
Brad Haddin (to prove return from injury)
Graham Manou
Matthew Wade

Bowling
Peter Siddle
Ryan Harris (subject to fitness test)
Clint McKay

James Pattinson/Mitchell Starc (which one returned from standby in India?)

Obviously India tourists Paine, Hughes, Smith and George will slot into Aussie A if not selected in first Test

Eyes not spreadsheets
Outside of Haddin and Siddle, do any of those named realistically have a hope in hell of playing in the 1st Test?
