If the core-group still wants to back Hussey, then North would have to be the unlucky one to miss out, if Watto is fit, he has to play, his all-round skills would certainly lift the Australian side.
He made 51 in the first innings, and wasn't out but given out incorrectly in the second innings. He shouldn't dropped after a decent game.

Won't really call it a decent game tbh, but he was atleast better than North, so North could well be the bloke to miss out, though the one thing that has been very annoying with Hussey is, he seems to be getting out in the same manner over and over again, either he seems to get bowled, or he seems get caught behind the stumps while trying to drive through the off-side, which indicates he needs to concentrate a tad more.

What do you think Watson is going to bring to the team that neither Hussey or North does?

I love Watto as much as anyone... but asking him to make a significant contribution with his bowling after eight months without any FC cricket and stress fractures of the back... isn't that asking a bit too much of him?

I think he's fine to have as the spare batsman if needed, but none of the batsmen have been bad enough to justify dropping yet.

Yeah, precisely. Watson should come in only if a) he's fully fit to play as a main bowler (good luck with that ever happening) or b) if one of the top six are genuinely faltering (which quite frankly they aren't - Hussey and North actually stand atop the First-Class averages on this tour).

Nah, it was a decent game. When the rest of the line up struggle to score 150 between them, he's done OK (not outstanding mind) in that innings.

Dropped catch at gully was a lowlight though (was him, wasn't it?).

Watto does appear to be in awfully good form though...
