Despite all the hype that he was bringing the flipper back etc. etc. he's hardly bowled it at all this series, and when he has it hasn't been threatening, a clear sign to me that he's worried about the shoulder, which takes more strain when he bowls that delivery.

When everyone starts spelling Jaques right, and gets the whole Clarke/Clark thing right, I'll get KP's name right.

He bowled a couple yesterday, along with the first wrong-uns I can remember from him for a while.

I think his shoulder is ok, based only on looking at him. But obviously yes, a serious injury, or recurrance of his shoulder problem would stop him, but that's true of any player in their mid-to-late 30s.

The flipper is all in the fingers and wrist anyway, not the shoulder.

They were ineffective though as he hasn't landed one properly yet all series.

You're correct yes.

Can't believe he didn't know that.

Flipper is hard to bowl, but Warney is dangerous enough without it anyway. He will play until he is 40 IMO, because he doesn't like not being in the limelight, and it will all fade if he doesn't play.

Yeah, I suppose international cricket is not enough of a challenge for the great Nel.

If you want to stick around on these forums, I would strongly suggest that you watch your language in future.

Warne said spin would be a vital weapon on the WACA pitch this year but it would suit finger spin more than legspin. "I know I am going to have to do some hard work here," Warne wrote. "That's why I am tipping Michael Clarke to play more than a handy role here with the ball. Clarke's left-arm finger spinners are underrated but I expect he will get a couple of crucial wickets, and might even get Kevin Pietersen out. In fact, he will get Pietersen out in one of the innings."
