It had been going downhill since the moment Hoggard failed to dismiss Hayden with the 1st ball he bowled at him IMO...
Has there ever been a more symbolic moment/omen for a series than Harmison's first ball?
Especially when you compare it to the series before.
If you fast-forward to the 2nd innings and the 2nd over you could argue that there was one in 2001.
(The dropped catch which Ward dropped off Hayden summed-up England in that series)
