Read is finally back into the ODI side and provides something different down the order, while Michael Yardy on first looks looks like the flexible player they've never had. Further more they've finally selected John Lewis after ridiculously dropping him after one game and he provides some well needed control in the bowling department along with Flintoff and Anderson. the only 2 weak points are strauss and collingwood but i think they can be covered up sufficiently. it would have helped had they picked a side like this some 2 years ago so that they had time to develop as players but instead they were too busy picking the likes of Clarke, key, mcgrath, plunkett and mahmood.

I actually think England have the makings of quite a decent ODI side....as you said, Yardy and Dalrymple give them a lot of flexibility and when Trescothick returns and Flintoff resumes bowling, they could be very competitive come March/April next year.
