Even if you look at Cricinfo or any other list of past winners of SA domestic winners it lists them as Transvaal before 1997 and Guateng afterwards and so did the name he wore on his cap/shirt.

If i were to use this loophole in reverse, then it will open a further pandora's box as many cities/states have changed names more than 04/05 times plus been part of larger teams that were divided later or merged.
