Agree wholeheartedly. Spiderman 1 and 2 with Tobey were great films and can be stacked up against any great superhero movies.
I thought The Amazing Spiderman was a good film on its own, but I was expecting more from a "reboot". I really didn't think it was that much different from Spiderman 1 with Tobey. If they were going to reboot a series so soon, they should've presented a more drastic change from the earlier films IMO. Much like The Dark Knight series. Perhaps it didn't have to be as gritty and "realistic" as TDK, but The Amazing Spiderman should have had its own distinct identity which clearly separated it from the Tobey films. I thought it failed to do that.
