He had to at the time as he had hit a bit of a slump, yet by DBTT he was writing top quality tunes again but felt he couldn't go back to the old 'my way and that's all' formula. And tbf on that particular album, some of the best songs are Liam's, and Andy's Turn Up The Sun. But on DOYS, I'm Outta Time by Liam is the best song but the rest of the album just shows that Noel 100% had his mojo back and restricting him to half the album probably weakened it.
Anyway. I had them at 1.
