Spas Delev and
Jarkko Maxum have completed a routine victory for East CWLand in the doubles tie; setting up an unassailable 3-0 lead with a four set win over
Jürgen Boniek and
Zbiginiew Boniek. Having taken both singles ties yesterday, Delev and Maxum were cruising as they crushed the Austrian brothers in the first two sets and, despite renewed opposition, held to match points on serve at 5-3 in the second. In a stunning turnaround, Boniek and Boniek saved those and went on to keep their slight hopes alive by taking the third set tiebreaker 7-4. Unfortunately they went down without a whimper after that - bagelled for a second time as Delev and Maxum booked East CWLand's place in the semifinals.
