Torres + Mascherano alone would/could cover that. The squad in 04-05 was worthless in comparison and few of those players went anywhere better or notable. Barely any actually turned a profit. That's why it's idiotic to point to Rafa's CL success in using Houllier's squad. He won the title despite most of the squad, not because of them. Few from that team actually stayed on and were useful - Gerrard, Carragher, Hyypia, Finnan, Hamann, Dudek and that's about it, really. Can we please get over the fact that regardless of the net spend, a lot of his buys were crap, the fact that they were sold off for whatever good value does not mask this fact. Not to anyone else anyway.
