    I think it was a combination of the manner of the defeat and a bloated sense of hubris. Stupid idiots seemed to genuinely think they were the best team in the comp. Showed up seemingly expecting to walk the game against Germany despite their best defender and attacker being out injured. Not that they would have won had both of them been fit anyway tbh, but still.
