This has pretty passing with high skill levels (and 2 talented teams) but I really can't understand how this is the most popular sport in the world. It is very hard to analyse in depth like cricket and rugby.

De Gea errors two tournaments in a row. Not sure I've seen one in the two years in between.

Haha. That was almost identical blunder to the one the English keeper made against USA in the 2010 World Cup.

More goals in this one though.

Modern football is too athletic and fast for its own good. There's very little rhythm and flow to games these days, even compared to even 10 or so years back.

Not as bad as that, but yeah, sub-par certainly.

    To the untrained eye perhaps.

Man, this is a bit of a classic. Can't hit it sweeter than that.

I'm expecting at least a couple more goals. Great start to the 2nd half. Ronaldo is not going to lie down and accept this.

Lovely strike from Nacho, that. Some skill to keep that so low.

What price a Chavnaldo hat trick now though?

My take is its very simplicity that makes it so popular.

Like every sport, the more one watches the more it reveals (especially in the stadium itself, football is quite badly served by telly, despite its ubiquitous coverage on the medium, so much movement off the ball isn't seen), but it is welcoming to the casuals in a way union and cricket aren't.

Iniesta is slowly turning into Yoda. Looks wizened well beyond his years.

    Still got it though.
