Injury-list: Rohit Sharma was injured in the Buchi Babu tournament, and won't make it for the Corporate Cup in the first week of September. He's out for two weeks.
More on the Sehwag vs DDCA clash- there may be some discussion happening here. Hopefully he'll stay, with the rest of the national players.
What do you think is the solution? Sehwag and the players are miffed with the DDCA. I saw their officials on television, and their attitude (particularly that of Vinod Tihara) was enough for these players to consider leaving Delhi. Some of them said that Sehwag doesn't turn up for Delhi, so he shouldn't try to get involved. Vinod Tihara said, if he's unhappy with Delhi, he'll leave Delhi, but he can't run away from India if he's got a problem with the Indian selectors. In case they're with Railways, they can even get jobs there.
On the other hand, the prospective teams for these players if they leave, are a lot worse. Railways have very old, obsolete, inefficient facilities. That's not good enough for champion cricketers. They've won the Ranji/ROD Trophy a few times, but have been relegated and have stayed in Plate for two seasons. Their base, the Karnail Singh Stadium, is pathetic, in every aspect. Plate teams such as Haryana and (recently promoted) Himachal, are even worse off. Haryana's association is badly run, and consequently, they haven't lasted more than two seasons in Ranji Elite, while we don't see star players staying on too long in Himachal- they may return to Delhi sooner than later. Delhi, it seems, have so much with them, but not using their resources properly.
