Was reckoning about 170-175 from when Root went, and I reckon that should just about see us home.

Windies batting is hard to predict though, somedays you feel 200 is nowhere near enough and other days 150 is well out of their reach

Moeen and Stokes doing the business at the end. That's been one of the biggest things missing from our LO teams, good to see.

England got it wrong today imo. Went too far the other way (on the aggression stakes). Too timid. Hales especially as to either go on or look to be a bit more aggresive. Still awaiting Nirvana. 2019 CWC hopefully. Runs on the board though so always a chance.

Really it was just the openers, everyone else did their job well. Sometimes it happens like that, not sure they were consciously being all that timid.

Yeah the openers didn't do enough whatsoever, England need to think about Ali, we seen spinners running riot so far, a spin bully like him is wasted at 7.

Ali is average to poor against spin imo. BUt least he would unabashed go for it (and his game is best suited to opening no doubt) from ball one. I think they'd possibly do that (swap Roy for Billings and open with Ali) if they were a bit more confident in the output they'd get from Billings at 7 but so far he isn't proven on the international level.

Really like to win this game tho for some of the sends offs the ****ing ***** windies were giving our boys.

Par score. Small ground. Strange they didn't try and go earlier since the batting is supposedly the strong point.

England will have to start well or this game could get away from them very quickly.

you need someone who doesn't give a **** like boom boom opening in these things

they'd never admit it but people like Roy are still playing for their spot in other forms of cricket so they care too much about their wicket. you have to a complete willingness to throw it away in the opening 6 overs imo imo

then if you collapse think about rebuilding or whatever

I would like that swap, Roy is not proven either.
true but he has the advantage of being in teh team currently. should have made the call weeks ago if they were going to do it.

and Moeen has batted terribly in every format for a while now.
