Don't think grecian is calling it a farce because the players don't care though.

Farce is probably harsh, I really like the form, outside of the IPL. I just think there's a pressure on the game that means that the panic becomes concentrated, we see properly competent cricketers give in totally to panic, and yet we see others that stay icy cool.


To me, boring old traditionalist that I am, Test cricket is the pinnacle of the ultimate, it Tests every sinew of mental, skilful, technical sides of the games, it's engrossing, it's hypnotic it means everything to a proper cricket fan. Yet if we are to have a diversion from that, make it different, make it jerky and discordant, make it fun and risibly watchable, but with moments of great proper cricket, make it T20, and not a boring one-day imitation like 50 overs stuff.

I just don't think you can bag a format or say it doesn't matter when the players clearly care about it. And quite clearly the T20 WC means a hell of a lot to these guys.
