    Why is Neesham at 9?

He'd bat ahead of NcCullum everyday of the week.

    Williamson/Devcich
    McCullum
    Taylor/Munro
    Anderson
    Ronchi
    Neesham
    McCullum
    Southee
    McClenaghan
    Boult/Mills/Hira

Given the squad. The middle to lower order can all shuffle around depending on the situation. Boult/Mills/Hira could be swapped out for Devcich/Munro, but do you really need to be batting down to 9-10? There's plenty of batting there, methinks.

WICKET! Footitt clean bowls Neesham with a perfect yorker. @BLACKCAPS 135-5 (17.5). N.McCullum the new man
So yeah they tried Anderson as high as 3 overnight, Munro, Ronchi, Neesham at 6 (his successful Champions League position), then NcCullum at 7.
Don't squander the gold of your days making a shrine of cricket videos, trying to improve the hopeless failure, giving your life away to the Blockys, the Devciches and the Weerasundaras! Surrender your devout little cricketing heart to the inured agribusinessman.

Cricket: Williamson to open at World T/20 | Otago Daily Times Online News : Otago, South Island, New Zealand & International News

There are two official warmup games next week, against Pakistan and Australia.

Hesson said as the Pakistani game was understood to be televised New Zealand would likely play a straight XI, but against Australia, who are keen to use all 15 players, New Zealand might use 12.

Agree it's not the most desirable but there's not much alternative to that succession of hit-out-or-get-out players from number 5 down. Not unless we want to push one of our 'real' batsmen (Williamson, McCullum, Taylor) down to five. Only other option I could think of would be that subcontinental low 'n' slow specialist, brutaliser of sub-par bowlers of half-volleys and renowned less-than-cool head in difficult situations, James Franklin. Did an ok job for us in the last T20 WC tbf. However we're still probably better off with the Munro/Devcich, Anderson, Ronchi, Neesham progression - they're hitters but not without nuance - and rolling the dice seems as good a strategy as any.

Anderson, Neesham, Ronchi is fine as a 5-7.

Why because he can build an inning better? Or do you just think he is a better player?
    1) Ross is Boss.
    2) See point 1.

Leading the charge against nuances being used in posts.

Overrated XI M Bracewell, Burns, Rahane, Don Voges, Bairstow, Alecz Day, Donovan Grobelaar, Luke Ronchi, Faulkner, Dan Christian, Permaul

Rubbish. How is Anderson a better limited overs bat than Ronchi? Because of an innings? Is Afridi teh bestest ever?

Anderson is decent and would be my 6
