He's quick enough when he hits his stride, but doesn't have the kind of immediate speed that really scares defenders when he runs at them.

I'd actually say Cahill has a decent gallop when he's going too, but Sterling looks to have the sort of "wingers" pace that comes from nowhere to fast in a blink.

    - As featured in The Independent.

"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."
    - Even the ICC's own official press release thinks things must change

2nd half of the Germany game has been quality.

Germany sporting white shorts less so.

Was a weird game. Didn't seem to wake up until Armenia's penalty.

Podoslki might have just played himself into the World Cup team. Makes you wonder why he stands there scratching his ass for Arsenal most weeks.

Had a couple of nice bets which just required Japan to beat Zambia at the end to pay off. Of course they're getting **** on randomly.

Actually I wouldn't have a problem with Flanagan either.
If Football was a game where you scored a goal/point for going/attempting to go around your opponent, getting into the box and then doing nothing with it, Lennon would be a star. I'm not sure who I'd pick as the replacement though.

Even when Diego Costa is in the side Fabregas still starts as a CF for Spain. Love it.

marc71178 - President and founding member of AAAS - we don't only appreciate when he does well, but also when he's not quite so good!

Anyone want to join the Society?

Beware the evils of Kit-Kats - they're immoral apparently.

You mean the Italians who drew with Luxembourg last week.

Both sides have problems, bound to be a snore draw.

Don't know about 5-0, but it wasn't great. I thought Henderson looked OK, and I wonder whether it's coincidence that Liverpool lost their way when he was suspended at the end of the season. Sturridge's finishing was woeful, and we can't afford that sort of profligacy against Italy or Uruguay. Rooney looks as out of shape as he nearly always does in majors, and I really wouldn't object to Barkley replacing him. Gerrard was firmly in hollywoodball mode, which didn't help. Johnson was embarrassingly poor of course. Does Stones play RB? Surely he can't be any worse. It's a huge shame that Oxlade C got injured, as he would add so much to what we saw last night.

Mind you, Hodurus really were a bunch of thugs. How their number 7 wasn't sent off for belting the ball at a prone Sturridge was beyond me.

France look pretty sharp. Especially compared to a lot of the other big teams in their final friendlies.
