    ***Official Monkey Tennis Thread***

Or "women's football" as this sport is sometimes oxymoronically known.

Not usually a fan, but kudos to the British lasses who bested Brazil 1-0 to qualify top of their group for the quarters.

Our girls face that mighty footballing powerhouse Canada in the last 8.

Thought this said monkey business and was going to be the gossip column of Village Rumours.

    Am a tad disappointed tbh.

Monkey Business is a pretty funny book about life as an investment banker isn't it?

I guess that would probably coincide with what goes on in the olympic village though tbf. Lots of sex, and lots of drugs (albeit of a different variety).

I was hopeful this was going to be a sport.

    Someone should start a league.

I saw Alex Morgan in an United shirt, It cut my appreciation of this sport in half, TBH

Nice to see our girls make it through to the quarters, even if it was via the dodgy "best third placed team" rule.

Meanwhile in the men's today, the jammy Brazilians squeaked past us by the narrowest of margins, 3-0. We wuz robbed.
