Yeah, same. But then the idea of him playing for England this summer was barely even mentioned, whereas almost everyone thought Richards should have been in the team. I know that's simplistic, but it still feels a bit like something doesn't add up.
I can understand him not being picked. Not sure on Giggs playing though. While Giggs is still a good player I am not sure he (which may well be the case with Beckham too) has the fitness to cope with playing in a tournament.
From a Scottish point of view it would have been interesting to see if Darren Fletcher may have got a nod over the likes of Giggs, if he had been fit.
Think it is a shame for Becks though given his hard work getting the Olympics over and his generally ambassadorial work that he has done. Although it is fair that it didn't purely get him selected.
No Scottish players and no Gareth Bale is meaning this Olympics squad is looking more and more like an England B team.
No one Norn Irish either. I thought Evans might get a go but he's not really a Pearce type player. The anti-Richards- small, weak, good technique on the ball, manager loves him but fans think he's ****e.

Cricket Web's 2013/14 Premier League Tipping Champion
- As featured in The Independent.
"The committee discussed the issue of illegal bowling actions, and believed that there are a number of bowlers currently employing suspect actions in international cricket, and that the ICC's reporting and testing procedures are not adequately scrutinising these bowlers."
- Even the ICC's own official press release thinks things must change
True, and I'd expect them all to start, probably. But even so, that's 3 out of 18. It's like a fantasy football conversation you'd have had down the pub about 5 years ago come to life. "Tell you what, if England had Giggs to fill in on the left then we'd have a quality side" etc...
In any event, squad is announced tomorrow iirc.

Pretty sure they don't have to go if they don't want to itbt.
Pearce seems to be the kind of person who just wants to be a contrarian wanker.

Well, the clubs may have to let them go, but what I was getting at is that there would be no way to force the player himself to go against his will.
We'd have won with Beckham tbh

RIP Craigos. A true CW legend. You will be missed.
Would have won with a proper ref.
