Is there going to be a new thread for this or a sub forum?

I'm really looking forward to the games. Australia will be doing very well if we finish top 5 in the medal tally. I think Britain will finish third.

There was a subforum for the 08 games IIRC

2000 Games were fantastic because they were well staged and in a country that wasnt familiar to everyone

2004 Games were meh because they were a gift to a country with history but no real right or expertise to stage them

2008 Games were most of the world's introduction to China and Usain Bolt

IMO, the 2012 Games will follow the pattern and be meh

Like many people, I've been to London before and dont really see the need to pay a massive premium to stay in ****ty hotels just because the Olympics are on

Must admit I am totally bored by all the hype it is getting on BBC already. The other day 100 days to go and it was all over the tv all day. So what, there are 100 bloody days till it starts for christs sake. It will be a letdown anyway, probably be wet and miserable and we won't win as many golds as expected (cycling and rowing apart) and it will be a total waste of money.

Have they added 'Looking Apologetic' to the list of events?

Once it starts I will enjoy it, but we have had 7 years of it on the Beeb telling us all sorts of worthless information like the first brick has been put in place or the turf has been laid at the Olympic Stadium. It begins to annoy you when there is so much other more important stuff going on.

Haha, I think the lead up was similar here. Although it did throw up some gems like this:
