Misbah being so freakishly good in T20 Internationals is one of the most random things in cricket. He averages 49 with the bat after 25 games. That's just stupid. He's not someone you'd think would have T20 as his strongest suit from watching the way he plays ODIs and Tests either. Strike rate not awful either, above 120.

Right up there with Dhoni's career t20 rate of 108

Beauty from Tait. Think that's the ball game.
Yeah, I reckon so. Doubt Australia'll let Razzaq play an innings similar to the one he played against England.

Has the music after a wicket been retro the whole game? Only just noticed the music kick in. Bit of YMCA after Afridi got out, and then some Jacko after Razzaq's dismissal. Oh yeah, it's effectively game over now too.

Pak lose another one to OZ (lost count of how many consecutive games they have lost to OZ)!

If Ind and OZ qualify for semis from Grp F then it would give Pak nightmares to even think about a semis spot :p

Pretty good performance from Oz except for the last over of batting

Harris needs to come into the side, probably in place of Smith, as bowling looks light and kid is wasted at 8

Finally, Warnie you idiot!

Tait is one of the best T20 bowlers in the world and the fact hat he was dropped from the hacks at Rajas...... was nothing short of an absolute joke

Pakistan having to sweat a little on qualification now. A smallish win for Bangladesh over Australia would knock them out.

Match Report

A major upset happened today when the top seeded Pakistan lost to the unseeded Australia. For the unseeded Australians, it was their 10th (iirc) consecutive win over Pakistan

Nothing went right (except for one over) for the top seeded, world champions and bowling powerhouse. The bowling attack comprising of some of the world's most talented bowlers gave away 190 runs to the Aussies. If not for the 20th over which produced 5 wkts, Aus could have reached a remarkable score of 200. Mohammed Aamer, hailed by many as the new Akram, put on a splendid performance to pick 3 wkts and get two RO in the 20 over of the OZ inning. The world champs had finally shown what they are capable of after taking hammering till the 19th over

When the champions, after not so powerful bowling performance, came out to bat to chase the formidable total, Renowned Pak commentator Rameez probably thought Pak wrestled back the momentum in the final over they bowled and now it would be a cake walk for the explosive batting side which include player who are well versed in the art of swinging their bats in all directions. Little did he know that the March of the Pakistanis (inspired by the documentary the March of the Penguins) to the pavilion would began soon.

The wickets started falling quickly but the hopes were still intact as the batting line up bats deep with 'all-rounders' like Aamer batting at #9. After a brief stay, the most promising young batsman the world, Umer Akmal departed. Now the hope rested on Pak captain Afridi, who is known to do 'anything' to help Pak win. In no time, the captain hit a few big blows. Rameez felt that two-three more overs of him and Pak would be home. But known to self destruct, Afridi got cleaned up pretty soon. He departed giving a suspicious look at the umpired probably feeling there was something wrong with the ball that got him out. Then walked in Razzaq, the all-rounder, who can change the game single handedly (ever wondered how many such players Pak has). But he didn't last long and with that the Pakistani hopes were gone. Soon the Australians picked up their 10th consecutive win against Pakistan making many ponder which was real top side out there!

Now if Bangladesh wins by 9 or more runs or chase down whatever Australia puts on by the 18.5th over, they'll go into super eights at the cost of Pakistan.

What if Bang win by 8 runs? Ban and Pak will be tied on NRR so by virtue of having won between themselves, will Pak go in?

That's the second tie-breaker after NRR.

From Cricinfo:

If following the net run rate calculation above there are teams which are still equal, then the team with the higher number of wickets taken per balls bowled in the Group stage in which results were achieved will be placed in the higher position.

Which will be Pakistan.
