Indeed. Last WC cricket final was over as a contest inside 15 overs.

Best things to come out of it were the squash ball conspiracy theories, and Jayawardene being a gent and leeting the game play out, even in pitch darkness. WAG.

Benefit of the doubt for trying to stab someone in the chest with your studs?

It's his job to officiate to the laws of the game, he has no business of worrying about footballs image. If a player commits such an offence it should be dealt with according to the laws.

Or was he just a PR man moonlighting as a ref?

He might not have been right........but it's still what he did.

Yip, and it affected the game just as much as the actions of the players.

I thought there was life in the match until Sanath got out to one that didn't quite get up.

Anyway well done Spain, deserved to win tonight and the whole tournament. Ok they never played at their best and you can say what you like about them being boring (I personally don't think they are) but they were by far the better side in the semi final and the final, don't think there can be any disputing that.

Want to feel some sympathy for the Dutch but it is hard given the way the 'played' today.

Love Iniesta personally, enjoying the hate he has been getting.
Very much agree with this post.

Cesc the difference in the end imo, looked so much a better team when he was out there instead of Xabi. Gutted for 'nando

Was such a frustrating match to watch. Was supporting Holland but they did some pretty awful fouls. At the same time the Spanish looked to have taken lessons from the Italians in diving.

Spent most of the match yelling at both sides to cross the ball in/up. Just keep passing back and stand around why don't you, ffs.

Spain probably deserved winners but best game of the tournament it was not. Not even close.

The only positive to come out of this is Cesc's transfer value had to sky rocket after that. **** Barca and their ridiculous underbidding for a guy as good as him. World record or **** off please.

Arsenal can't exactly bump up their price for a player who can't get a game ahead of Busquets, Xavi or Iniesta for his country.

If it is his girlfriend this is less exciting than I thought. I thought he planted one on an unsuspecting interviewer.

Proudly against the bring back Bennett movement since he is injury prone and won't last 5 days.
