Hurst and Maldini for me. Taking Hurst over Cruyff, although the latter the better player, Hurst scored when it really counted (ie, against the Germans)

Hurst, remind me how many winner's medals Cruyff has

Would have voted Owen over him too FTR as he was responsible for like my three favourite WC moments, as alluded to by Brumby

Ramsey in the second.

There's only one guy I'll be voting over any Englishmen (except that jamaican prick), and he's English too tbh

Cruyff & Zidane

Anyone else think that England are ridiculously over-represented in the nominations? Only me? I'll get my coat then

Laughed at this mind:

Hmmmm. I don't know - 6 Poms, Tim Cahill & Pele I suspect.

Should have made it so you couldn't nominate your countrymen, then we'd have a more representative sample - still plenty of Poms would be in there. Hurst was really a one-game wonder, for example. Deserves to be in the mix, though.

EDIT: [/whinge]
