I wonder where Arteta would rank on a list of the best players never to be capped by their country. It doesn't look like he's ever going to get one.

Marcuss 21-05-2010 07:55 AM

Qualified for England isn't he? Capello should get on the buzzer :p

Yep, and I reckon he'd walk into the side too. But he's always said he doesn't want to and that it's Spain or no one.

BoyBrumby 22-05-2010 04:16 AM

Re: Arteta; for him to be qualified he'd need to take out a UK passport and, with him being Spanish, there's no mileage in him doing it unless he half fancies a go.

Although, to be honest, I haven't heard anything about him taking one out.

He's a grub anyway.

Was annoucned ages ago wasn't it?

The Sean 02-06-2010 07:05 AM

**** me, Casillas has 102 caps and he's only just turned 29. Could end up with 200 caps if he wants to I reckon.

Torres' international scoring record pretty moderate for a player of his class too TBH.

GingerFurball 14-06-2010 12:56 PM

Really looking forward to watching Chile, have done a bit of research and they've got a very distinctive tactical style which should hopefully be awesome to watch.

Spain vs Chile will hopefully be the highlight of the tournament.

Pothas 14-06-2010 03:10 PM

Yeah hope Chile are good, Tim Vickery predicting that they will do well.

Have got the same manager and tactics as Argentina in 2002 though, and that did not end so well...

Should be attacking at any rate though.

BoyBrumby 14-06-2010 03:20 PM

Have got Chile in me work sweepstake so they're a first round casuality, obvs.

Samuel_Vimes 16-06-2010 04:53 AM

Saw a bloke draped in a Chilean flag on the way to uni today. :)
