Iniesta is the worst diver in the world. So sick of seeing his horrible flops.

Over-rated?

Their record going into the tournament was P48 W45 D2 L1 ffs, the core of their side plays for the best club side in the world.

And they lost to USA in the Confederations Cup and just lost to Switzerland. Anyone who has them down as even second favourites is living in cloud cuckoo land - a lot of people had them even better than that.

Well done Switzerland but hope they lose to Chile who were great to watch, they will need to take their chances thought that is for sure.

Chile top and Spain second would be great for the tournament.

Well done to Switzerland and all, but they better now wise up and go out in the first round. Worst team to watch in the tournament, IMO.

Finally someone who speaks sense. The first week has been all 'aww, it's so defensive and dull'. Then someone wins with two shots on target and we're supposed to celebrate it?

(They share that title with Cameroon, Denmark, Slovenia and a few others.)

It's easy for guys like yourselves from non-participating countries to be all sullen about the Swiss victory. For us guys it's awesome news to see Spain with egg on their face.

In all fairness it was a triumph of tactics over talent. If the Swiss had tried to take on Spain at their own game they'd have come badly second.

It wasn't a bad game to watch either; admittedly if/when Switzerland play similarly limited teams it might not be such a spectacle, but I don't believe "lesser" teams' sole purpose is to lie down to have their bellies tickle and be patronised by the winning coach for trying to play the game in the right way.

Cameroon beat Argentina in 1990 with a masterful display of defence and barely restrained violence and that was the greatest result for football ever.

So what team with a greater than 90% win rate over nearly 50 games would you have had as 2nd favourites then?

Why does the team have to have over a 90% win rate to be favourites?

Winning 45 and losing 1 of your last 48 games is a pretty epic run of form, no?
