Without having any hard evidence to back me up, I'd say those are valid points - I think the build up to this World Cup in the media here has been far greater than for Germany in 2006 from what I can remember anyway.

Getting excited about the match against Slovakia tomorrow. A bit nervous too. Seeing Germany slice through Australia again and again is a reminder of what NZ are up against, though obv Slovakia won't be quite as creative or clinical.
A mixed blessing playing the team we have the best chance against first up - overall I think it's good, however if Slovakia do beat us comprehensively then it's going to make the matches against Italy and Paraguay into solemn viewing. |

Yes Italy are getting beaten at their own game really. Pretty funny. Dunno what the captain was doing not bothering to jump for the goal - if he tries to head the ball that's most of the time enough to stop the header going on target.
