Bittersweet day for Uppercut - Ireland won but he lost his money. He had a punt on Australia IIRC.

    Wow, harsh!

Not exactly a fan of Hauritz, but he got a wicket and slowed the rate after Lee, Johnson and Watson were spanked.

Yeah AWTA. I wouldn't pick Hauritz in New South Wales's Second XI as far as First Class cricket is concerned, but he definitely has a role to play for Australia in limited overs cricket IMO.

Cricket Australia should rethink the schedule for the home 2009/10 summer, since the T20s are basically another set as two exhibition matches & player burnout again - may cause Australian players to skip IPL 2010. So average T20 performances may continue for a while yet.

Wonder if Lee's performances will affect his Ashes chances?

Will probably hinge on the tour matches more, you'd imagine.

Really really want to see Mendis in tests vs Australia. Especially in Lanka. Congrats to them and the Windies fo actually caring about the tournament and going through.

God I hope so. In his comeback, all we've heard about his form is how he's been bowling well in IPL. That knife should cut both ways. As pasag said, though, his tour match form will obviously come into it but on current evidence, there's no way he should be a walk-up start for the first Test.

He really doesn't get T20, though, does he? Gets belted then runs in harder and tries to send the next one down quicker. No mate....

I know the Aussies were in a tough group but the way they've folded has been pretty miserable to watch.

Pretty glad that I didn't wake up for this match. Pretty sure this will be the last time (in a major tournament) that Australia fields a non specialist Twenty 20 lineup.

This could be good news for your George Baileys, Jason Krejzas and even Henriques.

I do wonder, tbh, whether if the Aussies were serious about winning the tournament, he would have done exactly that.
