Great news...he will play for the Dutch this summer. That really strengthens the team an awful lot. Now go and kill some Poms, young Dirk.

Well; when you can't get picked for Aus because you play for Victoria...

*runs off to play for USA*

BARNES OUT
Doesn't look it; and probably has more years in him seen he never played cricket til his late 20's
Doesn't have a smooth action though, body will deteriorate fast. And when he loses his pace in his mid-30's he won't have much. Nowhere near consistent enough to make it as a stock 135kph outside off bowler.

Holland definitely have a good chance of getting through into the super8 now. You only need a couple of players to have a good game to win a T20, and RTD and Nannes are capable of doing that against England or Pakistan.

Bowls genuinely quick.
Indeed, a lot of late swing too. Nannes has a genuine chance to impress on the world stage, considering he has played a great deal of cricket in England and although he has a fine OD and FC record, T20 appears to be his game...

RTD and Nannes FTW!

Been playing for a long time, just never took it seriously until his skiing subsided.

Pretty injury prone his whole career, for the record.

Even if thats true (and Ive only seen him bowl a few times so I dont doubt it), he is still a great addition at Associate level for years to come.

As evidence, his nickname is "Cyclone" and was taken off earlier in the season for bowling 3 beamers (IIRC, they were all in a single over).

Two beamers and a thigh high full toss, the first three balls of a Sheffield Shield game vs Western Australia.

The thigh high full bunger got a wicket, too.
