    Hey if I can't be slightly racist during a World Cup then what is this World coming to?

    Anyways I think in a few years time they're going to be using helium filled footballs that weigh a few grams and then float off into the atmosphere when the space-age plasticky outer skin wears off.

    Lovely game. Well refereed, well played, plenty of goals, couple of beauties from Lahm and Friedrich.

    Germany's centre backs really need checking, though. Norway circa 1996 would have scored five goals on them.

    Best opening game I've ever seen (mind you, decent ones are few and far between).

    Absolutely wonderful to see Choppy notching a couple, but wasn't Frings' goal an utter stunner?
