Irrelevant - Henry's goalscoring record is much better than Rooney's so if 1 is criticised so must the other one.

Not to mention the actual teams he's scored against...
No because you're too dense to realise chief poseur plays far more advanced than Rooney does and doesn't have a out and out goal scorer ahead of him. It's like saying we have to criticise Maradona for not having a good goal scoring record - so what, still leagues ahead of chief poseur.

So when Henry was playing in central midfield for Juve or when he was playing as a winger he was still playing further up than Rooney?

And ignoring the fact that he is never an out and out striker, even if Arsenal play 5 in midfield.

It amazes me how one person can be so ignorant of basic facts.

I'm struggling to figure out what position Robin van Persie plays.

It is at left back right?

Oh right, following along your line of 'logic' you must also take into account Rooney plays as a keeper in training sometimes. Absolutely irrelevant.

That comment is absolutely irrelevant. When Henry played in midfield he was obviously far less likely to score which would harm his games/goals ratio. Henry actually played not as a forward in proper matches, including internationals.

Difference being that his examples have happened in games frequently.

The inconsistencies in your "argument" only point to one thing.

I know I was being sarcastic :p

Played well though when I got to see him play at Highbury last year. Frooze my backside off though  :@

Fine, take out his early appearances, from 2000-2001 season onwards he's now up to... 1 goal every 2.4 games - still 'nowhere near top drawer'.

Chief poseur has had two decent seasons for France as you'll see from here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry

2002-2003 consisted of:

Code:
21-08-2002 International Tunisia 1-1 France 0
12-10-2002 European Championships France 5-0 Slovenia 0
16-10-2002 European Championships Malta 0-4 France 2
20-11-2002 International France 3-0 Serbia & M 0
12-02-2003 International France 0-2 Czech Republic 0
29-03-2003 European Championships France 6-0 Malta 2
02-04-2003 European Championships Israel 1-2 France 0
30-04-2003 International France 5-0 Egypt 2
18-06-2003 Confederations Cup France 1-0 Colombia 1
20-06-2003 Confederations Cup France 2-1 Japan 0
22-06-2003 Confederations Cup France 5-0 New Zealand 1
26-06-2003 Confederations Cup France 3-2 Turkey 1
29-06-2003 Confederations Cup France 1-0 Cameroon 1
Flat. Track. Bully.

But if he didn't score he would be crap for not scoring against them?

Does he organise France's fixture list?

Out of interest when is England's two friendlies against Hungary and Jamiaca? One would expect somebody like Aaron Lennon or Theo Walcott to get picked to make their debuts into warm-up games?

The point is given the circumstances his overall goals per game record for France is relatively poor - despite him filling his boots against the footballing giants like Malta and Egypt. So if you take out those games his record is even worse which yet again proves my argument against the chief poseur that he's a flat track bully and barely performs when he's up against a decent side.

Despite actually scoring against some half decent teams....
Leave the pointless exceptions to marc.

Is Graeme Smith still a flat track bully if he hits Hoggard for 4 on a seaming pitch? Yes, but you can be sure someone tedious like marc would waste everyones time point this exception out.

You rate Rooney don't you...

Funny how you don't have any problems with his scoring rate.

Yes, that whole no goals he scored in qualification for the World Cup...
