I think that it is absolutely disgraceful that you guys should be crowing at the poor old New Zealanders - I bet that they are all really rooting for Australia to do very well in the tournament.

Just like the Scots, Irish and Welsh are doing for England.

On reflection, I suggest this thread ought to be closed.

haha so you slag off Australia for going up against tougher opponents and leaving NZ to dominate Oceania like Australia has recently

If this is in indication of things to come in here for the World Cup then we're in for a cracker.

Of the top of my head, Ryan Nelsen doesn't suck at all, and Chris Killen is a handy lower division striker. Can't think of any others.

Yeah Nelsen's a better defender than Neill by a mile.

Otherwise, yeah they pretty much suck. Hay's quite handy though and Simon Elliot at Fulham isn't too bad either.

I'd be interested to know who those posters whose home country has failed to make the finals will be chucking your lot in with?

Back in '94 when we jibbed the qualifiers (cheers Norway & Netherlands, by the way! ) I remember being chuffed my mum's dad is a Mick, giving me the Republic to fall back on. Them beating Italy (absolute screamer from Ray Houghton) & then eliminating Norway was pretty sweet.
