A likely scenario has England playing them in the semi-finals (if they get that far) and the other semi being something like Germany v Italy.

Thatcher would have got ridden of that awful 'soccer' and we'd have gotten a rebate thrown in from James - he'd have given Marc some of his life back (before Bliar comes along and gives the rebate back so long as James and the mods agree to discuss something or other in a few years).

Seems logical enough, but I think despite how many Magic Lamps and Stevie Gee-Gee have been banging in this season, they'll be too busy getting in each other's way to score many in Germany.

I think it's more because of how the rules set up what causes a break. Also, I don't see any doughnuts on the sidelines. Quit hating. Be objective.

Naming the sport American Football is the epitome of American arrogance.

I agree. The 24 stone puffs who get the ball thrust between their ample breasts and waddle a yard and a half before retiring to the bench and sucking on an oxygen bottle for half an hour bash it enough without the likes of me starting.

Harsh, but undoubtedly fair! The game just completely annoys me, mostly thought it's becuase of the arrogance of its supporters (Not you Ash) and players (again, not you Ash )!

Well the way i see American Football it is like an hour long of actual play (someone may neeed to correct me on that) But actually an hour of 4 sec plays. then a 5 minute break to discuss what the team will do in the next 4 secs for a play. so technically it takes like 4 hours to complete one game.

By the way, this was meant to be about the WC not about American Football, we all know the Americans, but they are not in the World Cup. So leave America out of it. And we call it Soccer, cause Australia has too many forms of football. Even though they use their hands, Go Figure! But League and Union, both started in England, Stupid Poms, take on the name Football. We just want to save on the confusion.

Eh? Not sure what that means entirely, but USA will be attending the World Cup this year. They qualified rather comfortably.
