I think you watch them for the visual treats and the music is just an excuse tbh.
Any way, South India has produced some great movies (from whatever I have heard and read - am yet to explore south Indian movies - which I hope to do whenever I can get the movies with subtitles) but as it is with main stream bollywood, much of what you will see on your tv set would be crap.
