Fitness boost for Tendulkar

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will get fit by the time for the home series against Pakistan, according to national coach John Wright.

Tendulkar was rested for the latest series against Bangladesh played away, as well as has missed the on-going annual Challenger Trophy, taking place in Mumbai, as a result of a tennis elbow condition, which already put him out of action for 3-4 months last year.

Wright said, “He has begun to exercise and his progress will be monitored by our new physiotherapist John Gloster. Sachin has had a good rest over the last six weeks and I’m certain he will be raring to go against Pakistan.”

Tendulkar will see his first action in a couple of months, when he takes the field in a Duleep Trophy match on February 22, a couple of weeks before the Pakistan series gets under way.
