Arcade Cricket By Mat Clark ---IMPORTANT--- You install this software at your own risk. It comes 'as is' with no guarantee it will work. It is freeware and works on my pc but whether or not it will work on yours is another matter. Created using Ben Marty's DirectX Controls. (You need directX 5 or above Installed) ---The Game-- Arcade cricket is my first attempt to simulate the contest of wits and skill between batsmen and bowler. As it would have taken at least twice as long (and the loss of my sanity) to program a clever computer opponent I'm afraid the one-player game falls a ways short of rip roaring fun. If you have a willing friend however you should find AC mildly entertaining in two player mode. I'd really like to write a cricket game for the playstation which is great for two player sports games. Unfortunately it's a tad tricky. Maybe next year! The game, as it is, is pretty rough and needs a lot of polishing up. If you think the game is ok but could do with some changes in the gameplay department email me with suggestions. If I like your suggestions I may incorporate them in a second version. ---How to Play--- Batting - Press the most appropriate shot key when the ball is directly over the red batting cursor Bowling - Try to bowl on a good length. Try to trick the batsmen! ---Source code--- If you would like the source code (So you can marvel at how badly structured it is or whatever) email me clarkm@rca.org.uk. You will need VB 6.0 and the Ben Marty controls plus the graphics you got with the game. ---Troubleshooting--- If the keys on the number pad don't work press the NUM lock key. ---Thanks--- I wish to thank the following people for their help with this project: Ben Marty for his wonderful DX control Dan Thomas for advice and beta testing Mario JohnRose for beta testing
