Donald backs Harmison

Allan Donald has thrown his weight behind the out of form Steve Harmison ahead of Thursday’s third Test at Old Trafford.

England’s new bowling consultant, the former South African superstar, believes Harmison can regain his world beating form that saw him ranked as the best bowler in international cricket.

“Sometimes, if something is missing in your action, it just won’t click. I’m convinced as the season goes on, it won’t take long to get back,” he said

“I’ve asked the technical guys to put together some comparisons from when he was bowling well, right up until now.

“I want to make it clear, I don’t think he is out of form, but he is a confidence bowler, like I was, and I needed to bowl a lot to become confident.”
