Collingwood and England fined

Paul Collingwood has been found guilty of a Level II Code of Conduct breach and fined 50% of his match fee for the second ODI between England and India at Bristol. Collingwood, the England captain, was reprimanded more harshly than his team mates who only received a 15% fine for the slow over rate.

It took England 40 minutes longer than scheduled to complete their 50 overs and Collingwood claimed that sight screen problems and medical treatment received by Sachin Tendulkar whilst he was batting were to blame. After taking these time allowances into consideration Roshan Mahanama, the ICC match referee, ruled that England were still three overs short of their target.
