Boje doubtful for ODIs

Nicky Boje is a dubitable starter for the ODI series against West Indies, after suffering from a breathing problem during the on-going fourth and final Test at Antigua.

Boje had to leave the field on both the first and fourth days of the Test, because of the problem, for which he also had to see a cardiologist today (Tuesday).

As the exact trouble hasn’t been nailed yet, the South African management is likely to exercise caution by resting Boje for the at least a week, which leaves him doubtful for the first couple of ODIs.

A replacement for Boje hasn’t been named though, as all-rounder Justin Ontong, who will be joining the squad alongside Justin Kemp specially for the ODIs, in place of Jacques Rudolph and Monde Zondeki from the current Test squad, will act as a cover.

Meanwhile, Dale Steyn, who is currently playing county cricket in Essex, could also be called over as a cover, if Andre Nel’s back problem, which has consistently troubled him this tour, continue.
